RESEARCH AT MCGILL
At McGill, I am part of the NSERC ResNet Project for monitoring, modelling, and managing Canadian ecosystem services for sustainability and resilience utilizing case studies and research across six Canadian landscapes. As part of the Project’s Synthesis Team, I will work on the co-production and building of future scenarios for these landscapes.
Building on this role, I will employ concepts such as future design, framing for sustainability, seeds of good Anthropocene, and other novel scenario development mechanisms to explore positive futures for these landscapes and their ecosystem services, especially in this period of the Anthropocene.

- Intergenerational dimension of ecosystem services, focusing on age-based values and interactions towards the benefit of nature Sustainability solutions for traditional or biocultural social-ecological production landscapes and seascapes such as the satoyama and satoumi landscapes of Japan
- Agroforestry-based ecosystem services and social-ecological systems across agroforestry landscapes
- Participatory methodologies and mixed-methods research designs for agricultural research, sustainability science research, and ecosystem service research
- Integration of sustainability science concepts (e.g., resilience, transformations, capitals) in agricultural sciences (e.g., agronomy, animal science, entomology)
- Roles of school and home hardens in local community development and localization of global targets (e.g., UN SDGs)
