Montréal à Votre Service…Écologique

We're hiring student ambassadors!

Our project, Montréal à Votre Service…Écologique aims to engage with, educate, and interact with McGillians and Montreals about the benefits that we obtain from the ecosystems around us. Using an interactive blog-style website, we plan to tell stories about the science and research that links the ecosystems around us with the people and places of McGill and Montreal. Based out of our lab and funded by McGill's Sustainability Projects fund, our project is an exciting new venue for science communication and outreach.

We are seeking to hire 2-3 enthusiastic and motivated undergraduate student ambassadors with excellent interpersonal skills to help communicate how McGill and Montreal rely on the environment around us. We need students to help us with one, or all of:

Outreach: connecting our project with the diverse sustainability and green projects/groups at McGill and around Montreal; networking with undergraduate classes and student groups and researchers; helping us publicize our project through McGill and other media outlets.

Web Design: designing an engaging, interactive, bilingual, and beautiful website that fully incorporates social media tools to tell the stories of the ecosystem services of McGill and Montreal.

Mapping and Software Development: helping us integrate video, audio, and maps of ecosystem services into our website, and developing a smartphone app for the project.

Student ambassadors will be expected to work 3-5 hours per week during the semester at $10-12 per hour. Start date will be as soon as possible, with the possibility of continuing to full-time work during the summer of 2013.

To apply, please send a CV and cover letter ecoservicemontreal@gmail.com. Feel free to contact us for more information.
